Around is a social fitness accountability product on Around.fit and iPhone. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how it is shared, and how you can delete it.
Data We Collect
We collect account data such as your user ID, name, username, email address, authentication provider, time zone, profile image path, onboarding status, and session data needed to keep you signed in.
We collect product data you create in Around, including your primary goal, goal settings, daily check-ins, streak and completion state, evidence captions, friendships, friend requests, bumps, kudos, verification actions, and invite state.
If you choose photo or video proof, we collect the media you upload, related file metadata, thumbnails, and signed access URLs needed to show the proof to you and your direct Around friends.
If you connect Apple Health, Around reads only the Health data types needed for supported health-backed goals: steps, sleep duration, active energy, exercise minutes, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and workouts. Around stores daily derived snapshots for your goal and friend card; your raw Apple Health database remains on your device and in Apple Health.
If you enable notifications, we may store device installation data such as platform, push token, app version, build number, device name, notification status, and last-seen time. If you use invite features, contact or phone details you select may be used to prepare and record the invite you choose to send.
We also collect basic technical data needed to operate, secure, debug, and support the service, such as request metadata, authentication events, crash or diagnostic information, and server logs.
How We Use Data
We use data to create and secure your account, authenticate sign-ins, show your daily card, maintain friendships, sync widgets, upload evidence, send notifications, support health-backed goals, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the service, and respond to support or legal requests.
Around does not sell personal information, run third-party advertising, use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing, or share HealthKit data with data brokers.
What Friends Can See
Around is built around direct 1:1 friendships. Your direct Around friends may see your display name, username, avatar, primary goal, current daily card, check-in status, streak context, selected progress values, uploaded proof, and reactions tied to your friendship. People who are not direct friends should not receive access to your private goal state.
Service Providers
We use service providers to run Around, including Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and edge functions; Apple for Sign in with Apple, HealthKit, widgets, push notification delivery, and App Store distribution; and Google when you choose Google sign-in. These providers process data for app functionality, security, infrastructure, and support.
Health Data
Health permissions are optional. You can revoke Around's Health access in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings at any time. If you revoke access, Around will stop reading new Health data, but daily snapshots already uploaded to Around remain until you delete them or delete your account. Around is not medical advice and is not a medical device.
Deletion and Retention
You can delete your account in the iOS app from You settings or on the web at around.fit/account/delete. Account deletion removes your Around account record and associated profile, friendships, friend requests, goals, check-ins, health snapshots, media records, uploaded storage files under your user folder, interactions, device installation records, and active session access.
Some limited records may remain where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, backups, dispute handling, or financial/accounting obligations. Backup copies are retained only for the time needed to maintain reliable systems and are not used to continue operating your deleted account.
Your Choices
You can update your profile and username in Around, revoke Health access in iOS, change notification permission in iOS Settings, remove uploaded proof by deleting related account data, sign out of active sessions, and request account deletion. To ask for access, correction, portability, or deletion help, contact privacy@around.fit.
Children
Around is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security and International Processing
We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate for an early-stage consumer product, including authenticated access controls, row-level security, private storage buckets, and limited service-role operations for account deletion. Data may be processed in the United States and other places where our providers operate.
Changes and Contact
We will update this policy when Around's data practices materially change. Contact privacy@around.fit or support@around.fit with privacy or account questions.
